The African Institute of Graduate Studies is envisioned to be a citadel of excellence in the delivery of Research and Graduate studies in East Africa and particularly in Ethiopia. It is planned to make a rapid positive impact on the spectrum of African academic and global institutions. The institute represents the overlaying efforts of the Ethiopian Education and community development services, and its Board of Trustees is intended to make a meaningful contribution to the development of academic institutions in Ethiopia. The goals of this graduate institute in setting up the institution are in agreement with the objectives of the National Policy on Higher Education in seeking to guarantee access to postgraduate level education for all Ethiopians, as well as to make sure that education addresses the needs of individuals and the countries in East Africa.
